MOVING DAY

[ the school grounds are swamped with cargo-filled vehicles, and people all around are exchanging teary-eyed goodbyes with family members and lugging heavy bags full of their belongings around. it's going to be a busy day of settling in, newcomers, but you can probably commiserate and help each other bring in your belongings, before relaxing outside with ice cream that the RAs are giving out as a reward for your efforts. fun times! ]

Well, we haven't made it yet. But someday.

[She tucks a piece of hair behind her ear.]

It feels weirdly good having people listen when you sing, you know?

We? [ her face lights up ] Oh, are you in a band?!

Sort of.

[She rummages in the purse slung over her shoulder and pulls out a CD-R with a photograph of herself and another girl slid into the cover.]

"Zwei Wing"'s what we call ourselves...and remember the name, 'cause you heard it here first!

But enough boring stuff. Our ice cream'll melt.

Ehh, that's not boring at all! [ that said, she does bow her head to catch a drop of ice cream that threatens to fall to the ground ] I think it's amazing. I play together with my friends sometimes, but we're not anything like a real band! Is that your album?

[halfthebird]

Sort of. All self-produced, but what can you do?

[A shrug. Okay, so her partner did the recording. And the mixing. But she provided moral support!]

Getting together with people's the important thing, anyway.

[idoldreams]

Right! [ she claps her hand together, obviously excited ] Hey, do you think I could listen to it?

[halfthebird]

It's all yours.

[A grin. There's...only two songs on it for now, but hey! Someday.]
