MOVING DAY

[ the school grounds are swamped with cargo-filled vehicles, and people all around are exchanging teary-eyed goodbyes with family members and lugging heavy bags full of their belongings around. it's going to be a busy day of settling in, newcomers, but you can probably commiserate and help each other bring in your belongings, before relaxing outside with ice cream that the RAs are giving out as a reward for your efforts. fun times! ]

O-oh right, Pinkie Pie. [That was an odd name. She wondered if she wasn't from around here too.]

Sure um, I think I'm supposed to room in um... Bonilla Hall, room 202...

I have absolutely no idea where that is! Come on, let's go!

[Eager to be off on an adventure, she picked up the handle of her wagon again and, for good measure, takes one of Nanoha's suitcases for her.]

Ah, wait up! [Grabbing her other suitcase, she pulled it behind herself.]

We haven't got all day!

[this is a lie as today is specifically reserved for move-in.]

[Suddenly, she stops.]

Woah, hang on. Just a second!

Hmm? What's wrong?

Okay, call me crazy but

[Lowers her voice as if imparting a great secret]

I think we may already BE in Bonilla hall.

[If Nanoha was prone to falling over in surprise, she would have done so. At that point, she just hung her head.]

Really? So we just need to locate room 202?

Hey. Wait a second.

[Korra stomps up towards the girl.]

Room 202 is MY room! Coach told me I wasn't getting a roommate this year because we won the championship! [She's totally forgetting the whole "watch from the sidelines" thing... but there is now a more pressing matter at hand!]

Oh gosh, it is? That makes things way easier!

[Seems to have missed the part where Korra is Not Pleased.]

Uh... I didn't know anything about this! [Nanoha shied a little away from the girl in surprise. With her much more muscular form, she reminded her a little of one of Kyouya's girlfriends.]

All I got was this rooming assignment and I just got here...

Augh! Why does Coach always do this? Every year they promise me privacy and I get stuck with a freshman!

[She kicks the wall absently. Her anger appears to be subsiding.]

I bet you don't even know where the Room is... [she mutters to herself, eyeballing Pinkie and her new friend.]

But that's okay, 'caus you do!

Besides, Nanoha here is teeny, I bet she won't be any trouble at all, right?

Hmmm.. [She is really small... And she seems pretty nice. And Pinkie Pie seems to like her so she can't be ALL that bad. Damn you Pinkie Pie and your ability to diffuse any situation.]

I guess... I can show you to our room and check this out with the coach later... [She picks up the girl's two bags with no difficulty at all but a whole lot of resentment.]

Great! See, Nanoha, that wasn't hard at all!

[Pinkie Pie makes to follow the two of them, even though she's not exactly needed anymore!]

I won't be any trouble at all, I just really want to be sure that I'm okay just taking up a little space. [So they weren't so bad after all, just boisterous.]

Alright. The room is this way. They're pretty big anyway. I didn't really need all the space, I guess..

[She sighs, starting down the hallway.]

I'm Korra, by the way. And I guess, I'm your roommate. [She continues down the hallway, stopping in front of the door and kicking it open.]

Pinkie, you want to help her unload her stuff? I think I want to get some Ice Cream...

There's ICECREAM? [Somehow Pinkie missed the memo.] Sure, it won't take a second! [She skitters into Korra and Nanoha's room, leaving her wagon in the hallway and trusting no one to take anything from it.]

Ah thanks. I just really got off the plane and all. [She started to unload her things, little things, a couple of pictures, a stuffed ferret...]

Oh man, this is basically the cutest thing I've seen in my life. [Pinkie picks up the stuffed ferret, awwing over it.]

[Pinkie shakes the tiny stuffed animal's paw]

So what else do you have to unpack?

I've got a few sets of clothing, odds and ends, and oh a laptop so I can talk with my parents. This is my first time away from home after all.

Wow, ever? So you never even went outside to play or anything?

[Of course Pinkie would take that statement literally. Of course.]

Huh? Oh no no, I've gone outside and played with friends, and I have them too. It's just that this is the first time I've been out on my own, living in a boarding school.
